Combining his orchestral experience with his training in Music Education,  Trey English is quickly establishing himself as one of the most up and coming performers and educators in the Southeast region.  As a soloist, Mr. English has performed in many music capitals around the world including London, Normandy and Paris.  He was featured as a soloist for the Georgia International Honor Band and has participated at various prestigious competitions including the Eastern Trombone Workshop National Solo Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Competition.

Also an avid chamber musician, Mr. English continues to perform extensively with Columbus State University’s Trombone Choir and Octet, which just released their Debut CD collaborating with world’s top trombonists representing ensembles including symphonies of Boston, Chicago, New York and the Metropolitan Opera.  In addition, he has participated in masterclasses and/or taken lessons with the many eminent teachers of our generation such as Joseph Alessi (New York Philharmonic), Jim Markey (Boston Symphony), Michael Mulcahy (Chicago Symphony), Paul Pollard (Metropolitan Opera), Weston Sprott (Metropolitan Opera), Charlie Vernon (Chicago Symphony), Koichiro Yamamoto (Seattle Symphony), Nitzan Haroz (Los Angles Philharmonic), Colin Williams (Atlanta Symphony Orchestra), George Curran (New York Philharmonic), Toby Oft (Boston Symphony Orchestra), Stephen Lange (Boston Symphony Orchestra), Peter Ellefson (Indiana University), Massimo La Rossa (Cleveland Symphony Orchestra), Bill Thomas (Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich),   His playing has been featured at multiple international festivals such as the International Trombone Festival, National Brass Symposium, Southeastern Trombone Symposium and Northwestern Summer Trombone Masterclass.

Mr. English continues to expand his orchestral repertoire performing with symphonies of LaGrange and Ocmulgee, both professional orchestras based in Georgia.  Recently, he returned from performing with the Hot Springs Music Festival and Sewannee Music Festival, summer festivals inviting emerging young artists and professionals internationally.  He has held principal positions with numerous ensembles, including Columbus State University’s Philharmonic and Wind Ensemble, flagship ensembles of the Schwob School of Music.  Mr. English has been an avid performer during his time at the Schwob School of Music.  He gave four recitals total during his undergraduate career, only two of which were required of him.  One of his recitals centered around a commission in memory of his father by composer and friend, Nathan Hudson.

Mr. English also has training in piano, he began to teach himself from a very early age before seeking private instruction.  Mr. English has played or been the rehearsal accompanist for several musical theatre productions in the state of Georgia.  Shows include Oliver, Pippin, The Music Man, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Oklahoma, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, and Edges just to name a few.  Mr. English has also spent time playing for churches in the state of Georgia.  He currently holds a music position at First Baptist Church Columbus, Ga.   He teaches piano privately to beginning-intermediate students.
