Hello!

My name is Michael D'Errico. My passion for music is only exceeded by my passion for education.  I have been an active musician since the early years of elementary school, focusing on vocals, guitar, piano, and percussion.  From first grade through high school, I was active in ensembles (choir, show choir, wind ensemble percussion), music lessons (percussion, guitar, and vocals), church choirs/bands, and other extracurricular activities like musicals and private ensembles.  

I attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee from 2012-2016 and earned a degree in Music Theory (an emphasis on voice).  After, I was a working professional musician for many years.  My teaching talents are mainly focused in guitar and voice, but my knowledge and experience with other instruments is vast.  

My goal as a music teacher is to help students hone their intuition as a musician through deep understanding of music theory, ear training, context, and instrumental proficiency. By the end of our lessons, you will have an "in your bones" understanding of music, how theory applies to your instrument, and an ability to learn any song you put your mind to.
