Daydreaming vs Reality

It's 1999 and a very confident 14yr old me is playing along with Metallica's Master Of Puppets while daydreaming of the day when I'll take the stage in front of a massive audience. Fast forward 17yrs later and you'll find a 31yr old man who makes a living as an educator/performer focused primarily in Jazz. I have never performed to a crowd of those massive proportions I had once imagined. Instead, my music is often considered to be background music. I do have my share of 'fans" though. They are the ones that are so caught up in the music that they feel inclined to have conversations with me...in the middle of a song.
