I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years, and it’s been a constant thread through every season of my life. I started playing in live bands back in middle school and never really stopped performing, writing, recording, and eventually teaching along the way.

I’ve been teaching guitar on and off for about 10 years, and what I love most is helping students not just learn songs, but really understand the instrument. My goal is to make lessons feel relaxed, encouraging, and tailored to you, whether you’re picking up the instrument for the first time or looking to sharpen your skills. In my experience, the fastest path to improvement is to learn in a way that brings you joy. We all have to practice details to get better, but I want you to achieve the ability to enjoy the instrument as fast as possible. From there, the details will work themselves out. 

In addition to teaching, I’m an active artist and music producer. I’ve worked as a studio guitarist on my own projects and other artists’ sessions and still play live gigs as well. That broader perspective helps me teach guitar in a way that connects to songwriting, rhythm, tone, and real-world musicianship not just exercises.

Guitar is my primary instrument and my first love. I’d be excited to help you grow in confidence and creativity with it.
