Interesting Facts About The Piano: How The Piano Can Be a Source of Inspiration in Your Life

The exact year the piano was invented remains unknown, but it is believed that the first came into existence by 1700. This invention is credited to Bartolomeo Cristofori of Padua, Italy who was employed as an instrument keeper by the Medici family. Since then the piano has evolved to become one of the musical instruments that have the most soothing sound. If you are a music enthusiast, the piano should be one of the instruments you should learn how to play since unlike others, it is quite easy to learn. Below are interesting facts you should know about the piano.

It Has Over 12,000 Parts and 18 Tons of Pressure

Despite the piano being the simplest musical instrument to learn, it has over 12,000 parts, 10,000 of which are movable. The piano has around 220-230 steel strings all of which are tightly stretched to produce desired sound when struck by the hammer.

These strings exert approximately 18-20 tons of pressure with each string having about 160 pounds pressure. The grand pianos exert a whopping tension of 30 tons! These two facts make playing piano a bit intricate and only suitable for professionals.

Despite these complexities, learning the piano can be quite easy if you are passionate about it. Start piano lessons today, and you will become acquainted with it quite easily. You will not even realize the complexities. Remember, life is like a piano i.e. intricate and complicated, but it produces the most beautiful music you could ever imagine.

A New Piano Needs Regular Tuning

New pianos are affected by changes in humidity and temperatures making them lose their tune. For this reason, you need to ensure you tune your new piano at least for times in the first year of buying it. After first years, you should tune it at least twice in a year. If you have a piano or are planning to own one, make sure you tune it regularly else it will lose its tune. It is important to note that you need to rejuvenate your life occasionally in the same way a piano needs regular tuning. Learn the piano today. Doing so will add rhythm to your life.
