Ekaterina Lazareva was born in 1985 in Belarus. In 1994 she entered the Republican Musical College at the Belarus State Academy of Music in a class led by T.P. Bodneva. Since 2000, she began to learn playing viola under the lead of prof. L.L. Lastovka. Since 2004 she has been a student of the Belarusian State Academy of Music in the class of prof. L.L. Lastovka.

In the years between 2003 and 2007, Ekaterina has become a laureate of E. Kohu, International Music competition in Chisinau, Moldova. In 2004 she won 2nd place at the International Competition for Strings in Kiev, Ukraine.
In 2009 Ekaterina won 3rd prize with her quartet at the International Chamber of Music competition in Smarghon, Belarus. Ekaterina has actively been taking part in the cultural life of the country and has been performing as a soloist in Belarusian Philarmonia.
She also was a member of philharmonic soloists ensemble “Classic Avangarde”. She repeatedly played as a soloist with the State chamber orchestra of the Republic of Belarus and with the student chamber orchestra at Belarusian Academy of Music, with whom she also travelled to Spain, where she performed I.S.Bach Branderburg concerto No.6 in “Palau  Musica Catalana” in Barcelona.
Ekaterina also took part in various master classes with such outstanding viola-players as Yuri Bashmet, Yuko Inoue, Yuri Zhislin.  Ekaterina was an exhibitioner of a special president fund for the support of talented youth.
From 2004 until 2009 Ekaterina has been a student of Chamber Music Summer School “Musica Mundi” in Belgium, where she had lessons with members of “Kuss”, “Talich” quartets etc. In year 2009 she has moved to London to pursue her soloist and chamber musician career. In years 2008, 2009 and 2012 she attended Lake District Summer Music Academy and had lessons with Yuko Inoue, Garfield Jackson and Chilingirian Quartet.  
Since year 2009 she has been performing a number of lunchtime solo and chamber recitals and musicals at such places as St. John’s and St. Peters Church in Notting Hill, St. Alfege Church in Greenwich, All Saints Church in Kingston, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, The Orangery in Holland Park, Beck Theatre, Bridewell Theatre and at such festivals as “The Little Proms” and “Earl’s Court Festival”, as well as a number of recitals with “Schnittke” string trio in Netherlands.
Additionally, she is a fellow of various London orchestras, such as “I Maestri”, with whom she travelled to “The Sacred Music Festival” on Patmos Island, Greece, as well as “London chamber players”, “Firebird” and “Russian Virtuosi of Europe”.
She performed at such places as Cadogan Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, St. George’s Hannover Square, St. Paul’s Covent Garden and St. Giles- in-the Fields Church. In December 2011 Ekaterina has played solo with “I Maestri” orchestra, conducted by Krzysztof Chorzelski, in St. Mattheus Church.
Since 2011 she has begun to collaborate with the composer and pianist - Evelina De Lain, with whom she formed a duo with and then trio later with clarinet - Karen O’Brien, which they named “Les Femmes Romantique”. They played a number of recitals in Schott recital room, St. John’s Church in Stratford as duo, as well as trio and, also, have recorded a CD with waltzes composed by Evelina De Lain.
In year 2010 she has entered the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study the Master of Music in Performance Orchestral Training course and, as a result of auditions, was generously awarded with a full scholarship by the Guildhall School Trust. 
In year 2011 she was awarded a full 2011/2012 academic year scholarship by the Leverhulme Trust, which allowed to continue studies and professional development at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. While studying at GSMD, Ekaterina took part in a number of symphony orchestra and opera projects, some of them with members of LSO.
She also collaborated with such outstanding conductors as Colin Davis, James Gaffigan and James Judd. She was a student of the professor and a member of Belcea quartet - Krzysztof Chorzelski. Currently Ekaterina is a student of the Royal College of Music at Artist Diploma course in performance led by professor of violin and viola – Yuri Zhislin.
