I have been teaching music lessons for nearly 20 years. I was a church pianist/organist for five years, perform regularly as a member of a Celtic harp duo, and have recorded six CDs.

I emphasize Christian, classical and traditional music.

One of my primary goals is for my students to love music. I strive to create a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere and to make lessons something that students look forward to. I also try to work with their individual interests and desires so that they learn songs they enjoy and can be excited about. My other primary goal is for my students to truly understand music. I want them to be comfortable on the page and off of it. Music theory, chord theory, and improvisation skills are all heavily emphasized.

I can give you advice on selecting a piano or keyboard. I have rental violins (subject to availability) for students who aren't sure of their interest level. I also have violins available for purchase.
