Why choose Green Piano Studio?

1. It is about the student

"Teach the student first, the music second and the piano third.” -Frances Clark

I believe that much is to be gained by piano study. First and foremost is the development of the student as a person; a person who understands the deeper, beautiful things given to us by our Creator; a person who understands perseverance and self-discipline. These things, and much more, are fostered through musical, pianistic study. I am committed to instilling within each student a sense of: discipline, motivation and love.

2. Professionalism, Dedication & Experience

For over a decade I have been privileged to work as a professional musician and music educator.   From classical pianist to rock-band keyboardist, I have experience in multiple musical styles and settings.  I have taught students from ages 4 yrs. to 85 yrs.; from the beginning musician to the graduate, university-level music major. I have earned both a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy.

This myriad of performing and teaching experience enables me to address each student's individual desires and goals and develop lesson plans towards meeting these.

3. Variety is the spice of your musical life

In addition to the solid foundations of music theory and healthy pianistic technique, I think it is important to expose each student to a variety of musical genres. Therefore, I strive to incorporate not only classical piano repertoire, but also pop, jazz, rock, among other genres. I want to focus not only on reading musical notation but also composing/improvising as essential skills of well-rounded musician.

4. Share & Grow

Music is meant to be shared with others. The act of sharing music should be fun, rewarding and joyous experience.  Each performance is also always an opportunity for individual growth. I offer a variety of performance opportunities:
