Hey teachers, how do you handle cancellations and make up lessons? What about payment schedules?

What is your lesson cancellation policy?
I charge by the term (11 weeks) in advance with a total of 3 terms per year. There is a late fee two weeks after billing. I post the due dates in advance. Summers are by the lesson. There are no make-ups except for extenuating circumstances ( my evaluation). Therefore, students don't skip for birthday parties, etc. unless the parents are willing to forego the lesson fee. If I'm absent I make up the lesson by extending later into the spring, or return the fee.
